The Best Metal Gigs Played at New Jersey Casinos

Due to stringent Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, we missed a lot of social events in 2020. With the vaccines being rolled out, things are getting back to normal, and entertainment venues are reopening at full capacity.

Metal and hard rock fans in New Jersey are set to attend a series of concerts scheduled for 2021. After the cancellation of all social gatherings last year, we expect concerts to be a blast this year.

Top Bands Playing at New Jersey Casinos

Some of the best New Jersey online casino sites, rated here, are owned by famous brick and mortar casinos in Atlantic City. The establishments often partner with America’s top metal bands to augment their players’ gambling experiences. Below are some of the most famous metal bands known to play at NJ casinos.

REO Speedwagon

One of the greatest rock bands to emerge from Illinois, REO Speedwagon were privileged to grace Atlantic City in June (or vice versa, depending on your perspective). The band has left different generations of fans stunned since their launch in 1967, but the peak of the REO Speedwagon came in the ’80s when their album Hi Infidelity hit the streets. The best-selling album sold over a million copies.

Some of the band’s greatest hits include “Keep on Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” New Jersey fans had never been that eager to sing along with the stars. Their AC concert went down on June 12 at Tropicana Casino.

The event venue was a great opportunity to augment the fun night while spinning reels and dealing poker games. Rock and casino enthusiasts attending the concerts like to take breaks from the crowd and the noise to spin wheels before returning to the hyped party.

With these concerts, you can often also choose to watch from the comfort of your home or hotel room and visit the casino after the crowds have cleared out. Alternatively, you can also enjoy the casino’s offerings on the go from your mobile device. The choice is yours. However, those who managed to attend the event were lucky to experience the best summer party in 2021.

KISS

Kiss just entertained their fans in Atlantic City yet again after doing so several times throughout the years. The band was formed in 1973, and have continued to up the game of live performances ever since.

Kiss have been leaving their fans breathless with shooting rockets, smoking guitars, extravagant outfits, and their iconic face paint. On August 21, the band set up camp at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Those who attended witnessed the masters of rock music bring down the stage and move the audience, as always.

Guns N’ Roses & The Smashing Pumpkins

This one took place on August 5 in East Rutherford, home of the “New York” Giants and Jets football teams. Fans in attendance sang along to “Welcome to The Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and all the other hits blasting through the air.

Top Metal Songs Performed At New Jersey Casinos

Metal jams have had a significant influence and inspiration on numerous areas of life for decades. The genre has never shied away from risqué topics such as gambling, drugs, sex, and other activities scorned by the mainstream.

“Poker Face”

This hit by one-time Metallica collaborator Lady Gaga had been stirring the atmosphere in New Jersey casino halls lately. Fans enjoy this track as a gambling hit because of the mention of the word poker.

However, Lady Gaga was quick to clear the air, stating that she wrote the song with a bisexuality theme in mind. Fortunately, Steve N’ Seagulls, a bluegrass and metal band from Finland, later on covered “Poker Face” and changed the theme to gambling, well received by gambling fans.

“Ace of Spades”

“Ace of Spades” by Motorhead is one of the most famous gambling hits ever. The track takes you on a trip, narrating the tale of a gambling addict who has taken up a belief that whenever the ace of spades surfaces, his luck is inevitable.

Motorhead dropped the hit several decades ago and it has become a classic over the years. As a matter of fact, there are several cover versions and the song, no surprise, is featured as a background track on the Motorhead slot machine.

“Train of Consequences”

The majority of music tracks taking inspiration from gambling tend to push the narrative of it being an attractive vice offering a ton of excitement and thrills. That might be the reason why “Train of Consequences” by Megadeth came as a shock to many when it dropped with an alternative narrative presenting the negatives that come with engaging in gambling.

The song touched on the impact of gambling on the individual and society as a whole.

“The Angel and the Gambler”

Artists take to music not only to express themselves, but to tell stories. Iron Maiden, one of the most successful metal bands ever, are some of the best story-tellers that exist, and “The Angel and the Gambler” is the perfect example.

The song depicts the narrative of a gambler attempting to quit the habit, but the pullback is too great to overcome. Some members of the band may have struggled with gambling addiction, and the song was a great way for them to face their problems.

“Deuces Are Wild”

If you happen to be a big fan of the casino game Deuces Wild, you might have a better understanding of the connection to this Aerosmith classic. The deuces will always be what you need them to be to rake in the maximum win.

Striking the deuces at a real money casino is a jackpot. However, the song is not entirely about gambling, even though it features a line with a clear poker reference: “cause you and me is two of a kind.”

Gambling has served as an inspiration for different music genres, but metal artists seem to be doing a better job at it than many others, sensitive enough to highlight both its perks and negatives. This explains why New Jersey casinos play these tracks in a bid to both encourage betting and to educate their players on responsible gambling.
