Animals as Leaders Drop Off Tour with Dance Gavin Dance, Replaced by Polyphia

0

Animals as Leaders have dropped off their upcoming tour with Dance Gavin Dance.

While the natural assumption at this juncture in time would be that safety concerns over Covid-19 were a factor (or, worse, an infection within the band), Animals as Leaders made no mention of the virus in their statement announcing the cancelation, citing only “unforeseen circumstances.”

The tour was initially slated to begin in March 2020 with Veil of Maya, Issues and Royal Coda also involved, but has since been rescheduled a number of times with different configurations of bands. Polyphia will now replace Animals as Leaders.

The band posted on social media:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be withdrawing ourselves from the Dance Gavin Dance Afterburner Tour. Apologies to any fans who were planning on seeing us on the tour, but we’ll be returning to all these cities on a scheduled headline tour with new music for next year.”

Animals as Leaders recently completed recording their next album, which will be their first since The Madness of Many, released in 2016, and was produced at least in part by Periphery’s Misha Mansoor. Expect a release some time in 2022.
