Arjen Lucassen’s Star One Debuts New Song Featuring Members of Symphony X and Unleash the Archers

Arjen Lucassen’s Star One Featuring Arjen Lucassen have released a new single, “Fate of Man.” Like all songs by Star One, it’s inspired by a famous work of sci-fi… in this case, The Terminator. And I can say with total confidence that this is the best metal song at least partially inspired by The Terminator that I can recall offhand other than The Acacia Strain’s “Skynet.”

Also like all songs by Star One, this track features some killer guest stars: Michael Romeo from Symphony X and Brittney Slayes from Unleash the Archers. Romeo’s entire solo is great, with the part starting at 4:28 being especially epic. And at the 2:47 mark, Slayes hits a note so high she broke all the glass in my house. Then, just as I was getting all the glass swept up, she did it again (5:28). GREAT STUFF!

Revel in Time, Star One’s first album in twelve years, comes out on February 8 via InsideOut Music.
