David Lee Roth Cancels Entire Farewell Series of Shows
After initially postponing the first two shows of his planned Las Vegas residency, iconic former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth has now called off the entire run due to concerns surrounding Covid-19.
The series of nine shows was billed as his farewell. “I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring,” he announced in October. They will now presumably take place later, but no official announcement to that end has been made.
The December 31 and January 1 shows were called off last week due to an unnamed member of Roth’s band contracting Covid. Now, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, the whole run has been pulled, according to a representative from House of Blues at Mandalay Bay.
Neither the Roth camp nor the concerts’ promoter, Live Nation, have commented, but Roth did post a piece of artwork on his personal Instagram account that reads “A funny thing happened on the way to Las Vegas.”
We’ll update you if and when rescheduled dates are announced.
