Korn Release Drum Sample of New Song

Korn have released a 27-second audio clip of Ray Luzier drumming. Current fan speculation is that the sample comes from a new Korn song.

The file name for the clip is “Now,” which has lead some to postulate this to be the title of the new song. That’s almost certainly not the case, however; Korn released the track list for their new album, Requiem, back in November, and it doesn’t include a song called “Now,” or even a song with the word “now” in its title:

1. “Forgotten”
2. “Let the Dark Do the Rest”
3. “Start the Healing”
4. “Lost in the Grandeur”
5. “Disconnect”
6. “Hopeless and Beaten”
7. “Penance to Sorrow”
8. “My Confession”
9. “Worst Is on Its Way”

Of course, it’s possible Korn have another new song called “Now” that isn’t a part of Requiem, but that would be weird and, frankly, a horrible marketing strategy. So that seems doubtful.

Meanwhile, we’ve already heard “Start the Healing,” so we know the drums aren’t from that song.

If you’d like to hear the clip, there are two ways you can do so.

WAY THE FIRST

  1. Go to Korn’s website.
  2. On the landing page, click on the phrase “Pulling away this veil I see…”
  3. The 27-second video file will download automatically.

WAY THE SECOND

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of this post and listen to the YouTube bootleg below before Korn’s camp has it taken down.

Requiem is out February 4 on Loma Vista.
