Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach Reveals the Three Metal Bands He’s Really Into Right Now

0

A dude like Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach either listens to a rotating cast of rad new metal albums, or he just cranks the same five records over and over again because he’s in an active metal band and just wants to hear his favorites when he’s offstage. But a new interview reveals that it’s a bit of both, as Jesse has listed his three current favorite bands, and there’s some new stuff in there and some classic stuff.

Speaking to the Sobre La Dosis podcast via Cameo, Jesse was asked the following questions:

  • What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned as a musician? Jesse’s answer: “Stay humble…you’re never a master at what you do.”
  • Is there any project you’re particularly excited about right now? Jesse: “I’m just excited to continue to do this.”
  • Who are your top three favorite metal bands?

For this question, Jesse said the following, as transcribed by our sweetie pies over at Metal Injection:

“You could ask me this now and it might change in a week, because I’m constantly rotating. So in my current rotation what I listen to right now that when I jump in my car and go for a ride – Katatonia is pretty high on the list. I’ve been listening to them a lot lately, and winter too tends to bring on different types of music that I enjoy. Rivers Of Nihil has been one I really love. The new record The Work is really good, killer stuff.

“What else… I mean, classic Metallica, going back to those first four records, five records. You can’t go wrong you put on any one of those records, I know those words by heart. Early Metallica, I mean Metallica  in general is a great band but for me personally, just that era, there was nothing like it. I know it’s probably a typical answer but it’s true. I truly love early Metallica.”

Aw, cool! We’re glad Jesse loves Rivers of Nihil. Shows he has good taste.
