Pamela Anderson Will “Tell the Real Story” in New Netflix Documentary

Hulu’s recent miniseries Pam and Tommy caused some controversy with its depiction of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and then-Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson. Anderson herself publicly revealed that she would not be watching the show and didn’t respond to actress Lily James’ attempts at contact (James portrayed her in the show), while former Crüe vocalist John Corabi called out the show for being “so full of bullshit, it’s ridiculous.” Now, Anderson’s side of the story will be told, as she and Netflix have announced a new documentary about her life.

As reported by Ultimate Classic Rock, Netflix’s new documentary will be “intimate portrait embedded in the life of Pamela Anderson as she looks back at her professional and personal path and prepares for the next steps on her journey.”

The documentary will be directed by Ryan White, whose past works include the Netflix series The Keepers and The Case Against 8 for HBO. Brandon Thomas Lee, Anderson’s son, will serve as a producer on the project.

Anderson also posted an image on her Instagram of a note, written on Netflix stationary, which reads the following:

“My Life

“A thousand imperfections

“A million misperceptions

“Wicked, wild, lost & nothing to live up to

“I can only surprise you

“Not a victim but a survivor & alive to tell the real story.”

Corabi specifically focused on the depiction of Pam in Pam and Tommy and how it affected her sons in his complaints about the show, saying:

“Apparently, HULU, and all involved in this crock of shit don’t care about how Pam may feel to have to relive this. Or how Tommy’s new wife may feel. Or how about Tommy’s boys seeing this completely overblown story about their parents!!! Shame on EVERYONE involved…,”

More on this project as it comes, but good for Pam for wanting to tell the world what actually happened.
