Unto Others Do “Heroin” In New Video

0

Last year saw contemporary goth-metallers Unto Others drop their new album Strength to great acclaim. Now, the band have released a video for the track “Heroin,” which you can check out below.

What’s most impressive about the “Heroin” video is that like everything Unto Others does, it feels like a really solid throwback to the early ’90s. And not just because it’s a track about a drug that became huge during that time — it’s also the band’s lighting, the way vocalist Gabriel Franco does the whole thing through a chain-link fence, the unshaven and grimy-yet-somehow-glamorous look of the junkies in the footage. This isn’t just a reference to an era, it’s an homage to it.

Says Franco of the video:

“Finally giving this song its moment in the sun. This one was a weird one to write in that it just kind of happened in a couple hours. but was a solid accident. It has now become one of my favorite tracks on the record. Zev and team knocked it out of the park”
