What Year Is This: Korn and Limp Bizkit Drop New Music Videos
I remember nu-metal from the first time it became popular, and man, I couldn’t have predicted this. By the time Adema were doing their damnedest to get recognition, the general consensus was that the entire genre was utter bullshit, and would best observed in the rearview mirror. But here we are, in April of 2022, and both Korn and Limp Bizkit have dropped new music videos on the same day.
Korn’s video is for “Worst Is On Its Way,” and mostly features the band members as CGI scaffolding, or something. Limp Bizkit’s video is for their track “Dad Vibes,” and features vertical-phone footage of the band members acting like goofy dads. The two offer a very stark contrast between what it’s like to be a nu-metal band that survived the scene, and what it’s like being a band that went down with it, only to be reborn in the glory of Mother Internet.
