Vended, Featuring the Sons of Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan, Drop New Single “Asylum”

0

Last we heard from Vended, the band featuring the sons of Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan, was when it was announced last month that they’d be opening for In Flames on their upcoming North American tour. Now, the band have dropped a new single, which you can hear below.

Vended’s new song “Asylum” goes hard in its driving momentum, though it manages to show off quite a few funky flourishes. That said, look, we gotta talk about Griffin Taylor’s vocals and how similar they are to his father’s. We know these comparisons bother him, and it’s not our intention to bum him out, but it’s not just the sound of his voice, it’s the vocal rhythms, and intonations, and the emphases. This song sounds like Corey Taylor is singing on it. So while we get that the dude is trying to make his own name, the comparisons are pretty unavoidable with a track like this.

Says the band about the song:

“This song is unforgiving and uncompromising. We are back and
better than ever. This is a straight fuck you!”

Check out “Asylum” below, and catch Vended at one of their upcoming dates:
