Watch: Randy Blythe Sings “Fight Fire with Fire” with Bay Area Interthrashional

0

When it comes to the all-time great songs of thrash, there are few songs that stand alongside Metallica’s “Fight Fire with Fire” on the Ride the Lightning album, in my humble opinion. So any time we get to hear it played live by a band that can do the 1984 classic justice (read as: without Lars), it’s a good day.

Yesterday, concert goers at Dynamo Metalfest in Eindhoven, Netherlands got a killer rendition of the track as they witnessed Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe take the stage with Matt Camacho and Craig Locicero, of Forbidden, and Chris Kontos, of Machine Head, as part of the Bay Area Interthrashional project.

As you can see from the pair of fan-filmed videos below, it was a killer cover complete with the same killer riffs and double bass (remember that, Lars?!) that make the track memorable. Randy’s vocals are spot on too, giving the song a more modern sound.

Blythe and his bandmates in Lamb of God are currently cooling their heels after finishing a nearly month-long European tour. Starting next month, however, the band goes back out on the road with a whole range of supporting acts, including Baroness, Fit for an Autopsy, and Spiritbox. That tour will be in support of Lamb of God’s forthcoming album Omens which is set to release on October 7 via Epic Records.
