Get Your Tremolo Picking Down With This Guitar Playthrough of Gaerea’s “Mantle”
It’s always cool to see how the pros play their instruments, so when a video of Gaerea’s Guilherme Henriques (at least we assume that’s him) just playing “Mantle” on guitar with a backing track was posted by the band’s label Season of Mist, we just had to check it out.
For those not in the know, Gaerea is a Portuguese outfit that describes themselves as “cathartic black metal,” when we’ve then gone on to describe as a sort of “even more blackened Behemoth, or a less thrashy Ravencult.”
Watching the video, it’s great to hear an instrumental version of “Mantle,” since it really opens up some of the more layered elements of the song. If you want to check out the song as it was recorded for their new forthcoming album Mirage, you can watch the official video posted below.
Gaerea’s next studio effort, Mirage, will be out on September 23, but is up for preorder via Season of Mist today.
