New Anti-Boomer Song by The Offering Paints an Entire Generation of “Flower Children” as “Sociopathic Narcissists”

Depending on how old you are, this next bit of news will either make you laugh in agreement or pissed off that you’re being called out. The Offering released a new song that rips boomers to fucking shreds, calling the entire generation a group of “sociopathic narcissists” that’s left the younger generations holding the bag for their shitty decisions.

Considered a “controversial anthem for the youth,” “Flower Children” is the band’s latest single off their forthcoming album Seeing The Elephant. According to the band, the song uses tongue-in-cheek and pun-filled lyrics to get its acerbic point across.

“‘Flower Children’ is a declaration of distrust and loathing for an entire generation of sociopathic narcissists. Art, literature, the economy, politics, and American cultural war issues – all resolved with the emergence to power of a new generation. Inspired by Bruce Cannon Gibney’s A Generation of Sociopaths: How the Baby Boomers Betrayed America, ‘Flower Children’ echoes his thesis – condemning the mentally defunct characteristics of an aging generation, and the irrationality of its longevity in power. Undeniably, the systemic operation of the country would be better off without their rusting grip. I hope this song offends their delicate sensibilities. And if it does…Good riddance!”

As you’ll hear from the song posted below, the song’s straight to the fucking point. It doesn’t mince words and calls boomers out for pretty much making sure they got their own and then pulling the ladder up with them to leave the coming generations to live in squalor on a dying planet.

The Offering’s upcoming record Seeing the Elephant will be released on November 4, though you can preorder the a copy today via Century Media Records.
