Punch Today’s Face Off with the New Video for Ingested’s “From Hollow Words,” Featuring Sven de Caluwé of Aborted

You ever have one of those mornings where you’re just dragging ass? Yeah, that’s what I was going through just moments before I hit play on the new Ingested video for “From Hollow Words.” Now I’ve got enough energy to kick God in the dick and run through every wall in my way until at least lunch time.

And that’s not only because the song’s crushingly heavy or anything. Those things certainly help. But it’s the fact that the killer dudes in Ingested teamed up with Aborted’s Sven de Caluwé to add an even more skull crushingly badass dimension to the whole thing.

According to Ingested vocalist Jason Evans, the song’s an ode to the kind of person who knows their life isn’t going how they want, but they’re too weak-willed to make the right changes.

“You ever know one of those pricks that constantly say they’ll do things differently, or say they’re sorry for fucking you about, but then they always just do the same things over and over again? Well, our new single is about those types of arseholes. Allow us to present to you ‘From Hollow Words,’ featuring our good friend Sven de Caluwé of death metal monsters Aborted. We’ve wanted to work with Sven for a very long time and we couldn’t be happier to show you the result of Ingested and Aborted smashing heads!”

Evans went on to describe “From Hollow Words” as a “no-nonsense, heavy, aggressive” and said it’s exactly what Ingested and Aborted fans expect to hear from such a pairing.

“The fast-paced, back and forth, call-and-response style delivery between myself and Sven keeps the energy up to max from start to finish and the blend of our styles compliment each other ferociously.”

Having been a tourmate with Ingested in the past, de Caluwé said he was happy to be part of the album.

“Beyond stoked to have taken part in the new Ingested record, I’ve known the guys for years now and we have toured together a few times; they’re a machine that just hits like a wrecking ball — not the pop type of ‘Wrecking Ball,’ mind you. This new record will turn many heads, I’m sure, and is their heaviest-sounding to date. Check it out and remember what Jack Burton always says: It’s all in the slams.”

Ingested’s next album Ashes Lie Still will release on November 4, but is currently available for preorder via Metal Blade.

Starting later this month, you can catch Ingested on the road as they open for the on fire Lorna Shore. The tour will run from October 21 to November 20, so be sure to check the dates below to see if they’re hitting a venue near you.
