Beltfed Weapon Drop The Single and Video for “Darkened Demise”

0

Earlier today, Beltfed Weapon released the second album and lyric video for the title track of their upcoming album, Darkened Demise.

Touted as a supergroup of Pacific Northwestern thrash/speed/death metal stalwarts, Beltfed Weapon is comprised of Frank Hetzel on guitar, Steve Tucker on vocals, Jason Viebrooks on bass, Kragen Lum on “guitar solo,” and Bryan Newbury on drums.

Guitarist Frank Hetzel, whose entry into the music scene was booking touring bands for shows in the Seattle area, said the new album’s title came to him seemingly out of nowhere.

“One day the words darkened demise just came into my head. I didn’t know what the meaning was, but I thought it sounded cool, so I looked it up and demise has a few meanings, one which is a person’s death. With darkened at the beginning I thought the concept of death to a powerful corrupt leader would fit, and that mixed well with the war concept which has been the root of Beltfed Weapon. I have enjoyed watching a lot of war documentaries, so this song is back to the root, and what Steve Tucker did with the vocals on this song, he absolutely crushes! I am very honored to have the opportunity to work with him, as well as everyone else on the Darkened Demise.”

As you can expect from a band that describes themselves as a thrash/speed/death metal outfit, “Darkened Demise” is an unrelenting track that keeps up the heavy riffage and pummeling drums throughout. You can check the song and video out below.
