Venom Inc. Comment on Postponed North American Tour Dates

0

Over the weekend, we reported on the fact that Venom Inc. was forced to drop off their own headlining tour in the U.S. due to visa issues. At the time, we didn’t know if the band had plans to make those dates up or not, but it turns out they’re still eyeing some time in the States.

In a newly released statement from the band, issues like the backlog of tours caused by COVID-19, as well as scheduling issues with the U.S. Embassy in Portugal, caused Venom Inc. to miss their original slate of dates.

“It is with great frustration and regret that we must announce that our planned East Coast U.S. run must be pushed into 2023.

“In the meantime, we will plan the West Coast dates to happen earlier in 2023.

“Due to the backlog caused by the Covid-19 situation, the US Embassy in Portugal is unable to schedule an appointment interview for a visa before mid-November.

“Although we have been pushing for weeks and have been passed with all paperwork required and fees paid, the government is the one who holds the wand over us and has refused to expedite us in this instance so we are left with no choice but to postpone.

“Some things are beyond our control so we apologize but rest assured we will hit hard, heavy, and loud in 2023 so hold fast and we will see you soon!!”

It always sucks when a tour gets derailed because of circumstances outside of the band’s control, but it’s good to know they’re working to make those dates up and return to the U.S. In the meantime, the band said ticketholders should be able to receive a refund from their venue.

Venom Inc. was originally supposed to tour the U.S. with Eyehategod, Ringworm, and Cult of Lilith to support their latest album release, There’s Only Black. Dates starting in New York City on October 27 and then ending in Boston on November 13.

With Venom Inc. unable to perform, Eyehategod announced that they were going to run their own headlining tour with Brat and Total Hell.

The following dates were the ones that Venom Inc. was forced to cancel.
