God Forbid Announce Two Shows for January, Including Homecoming Show in New Jersey

0

When it was revealed last year that God Forbid were considering a reunion tour, I was cautiously optimistic. When they performed at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival, I was excited but disappointed that I couldn’t make it out to catch ’em live. But today, when they announced they were going to tear it up in our shared home state of New Jersey this coming January??? I’m abso-fucking-lutely stoked that they’re coming home to kick some ass in the Garden State.

Earlier this afternoon, God Forbid took to their social media accounts to announce that they’d scheduled a show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on January 6, 2023, as well as a follow up show at the Worcester Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts the following day.

Just this past Sunday I highlighted a God Forbid show at Starland Ballroom as last week’s classic concert, so I’m just going to pretend like I willed this into existence.

When it comes to good news when it rains it pours. Despite doing an incredible reunion show at Blue Ridge Rockfest a couple months back, we knew it wouldn’t be a proper reunion without performing a show in our home area of New Jersey. Those are the fans that have been the loudest and most passionate since the beginning, so it warms our hearts to be able to give back. The Massachusets metal scene is one of the first places to embrace what God Forbid does so it’s fitting to make an appearance in New England where the metal is in their blood.

And to have the legendary Bleeding Through as a part of this makes these performances that much more special.

This has been a decade in the making. Make sure you are there to witness history.

Jan 6th, 2023 – Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ
Jan 7th, 2023 – Worcester Palladium in Worcester, MA

Tickets go on sale this Saturday, Nov. 5th at 10am EST. More support bands TBA.

I don’t think I can properly convey how excited I am at the prospect that not only long-time fans will get to see them play live, but the opportunity younger metal fans will get to experience God Forbid’s brand of intensity in person.

Along with God Forbid, the band announced that Bleeding Through will be playing those evenings. They also said more support bands would be announced at a later date. Now, I’m just going to throw this energy out there into the universe: their addition of a support band, as well as the potential for more, makes me think there could be a bigger tour a-brewin’. Call it wishful thinking, but metal needs to be reminded how these four men from New Jersey get down.

Tickets are going to go on sale this Saturday, November 5 at 10 a.m. EST.
