AHAB Announce New Album and Drop a Crushingly Heavy Single

0

After nearly a decade away, funeral doom outfit AHAB announced their return to the scene with a new album titled The Coral Tombs, which is expected to release January 13, 2023 via Napalm Records. With the band sticking to their nautical theme, we’re expecting depth charges of sound that assault the senses and keep you under the weight of their heaviness.

And after hearing the album’s first single, “Prof. Arronax’ descent into the vast oceans,” which features guest vocals from Ultha’s Chris Dark. With each passing minute of the eight-minute epic, those expectations have only grown vaster. Guitarist Christian Hector said the wordily named single was the perfect way to introduce their upcoming record.

“How else could we have started our new album after eight years wait? I love the unexpected, so it feels kinda natural to start that thunderous.

“The song tells the first milestone of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, when the Nautilus attacks and Professor Arronax and Conseil go over board and nearly drown. Of course we also introduce Captain Nemo in the first song. I cut the video myself as Napalm Records asked us for some videos – it’s a lyric nautic video. We’ll do two DIY videos and one professional video.”

So not only are we going to get more tracks leading up to the album’s release, but we’re going to get a few more watery music videos to quench our thirst for the new stuff.

The Coral Tombs will release on January 13, 2023, but you can preorder a copy today via Napalm Records.
