Another Day, Another Pro-Shot Acoustic Cover from Metallica’s Charity Event
Seems like the floodgates have opened a bit in recent days, as the annual Helping Hands Concert & Auction earlier this month recently was made available on streaming services. Two days ago, we got the pro-shot footage of Metallica covering Thin Lizzy’s “Borderline” during their acoustic set and now today we’ve got another video, this time of their acoustic cover of UFO’s “It’s Killing Me.” And this was all after we got pro-shot footage of “Lux Æterna” last week.
Up until now, you’ve either had to have caught the performance when it ran live on Paramount+. As you should know by now, the guys in Metallica are excellent at what they do, so it shouldn’t shock you in the slightest that this cover sounds good. Once again featuring backing vocals from Avi Vinocur of Goodnight, Texas, it’s a great example of the variety that Metallica can bring to the table, even if it’ll piss off their fans in the process.
We’re only a few months away from the release of 72 Seasons, which will be available on April 14, 2023. Then less than two weeks after that, Metallica will embark on the first leg of a massive, two-year touring schedule, which you can check out below the video.
