Freeze MF Rock Out in New Video for “Cold Soul”

0

When I hear the words “Cold Soul,” I’m instantly reminded of Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri’s short-lived and wildly edgy clothing line. While you probably won’t find any of that merch floating around the resale groups, MetalSucks has a new video for you: Philadelphia hardcore/metalcore crew Freeze MF’s new single, also called “Cold Soul.”

If you’re not familiar with the band, Freeze MF have been around for a few years (they started in 2018 and released their debut album, Join or Die, in 2019), peddling their brand of mosh music across the United States in the studio and on tour. “Cold Soul” is the latest offering from the band and it sees Freeze MF continue to push their tunes in a fresh direction without abandoning their roots. “Cold Soul” is groovy as hell, which opens up a pathway for vocalist Dominic Stone to incorporate some nü and rap metal influence in the delivery.

The accompanying video shows the band playing live around Philly in a few different locations, spending a lot of time near the now-shuttered Voltage Lounge, a regular locale for metal and hardcore bands in the 2010s.

Stone gave MetalSucks a little insight into the making of the song and video:

“’Cold Soul’ was one of the most fun videos we have ever done. Being able to capture the city of Philadelphia while being able to still talk about our love for the road, this video blends those two messages together.”

Check out the video below; you can get the song here when it drops tomorrow (Friday). Freeze MF will be on the road this weekend and again in April.
