Static-X’s Tony Campos Suggests It’s “Up to the Fans” Whether the Band Will Make New Music

0

It’s been almost nine years since the untimely death of Static-X frontman Wayne Static, but the group may now be able to move on and create something new. And one of the main factors that will play in their decision of whether to make new music or not will be the fans, according to the industrial outfit’s bassist, Tony Campos.

The revelation came during a recent interview with The Underground Australia YouTube channel, in which Campos considered if there was a potential future where brand new Static-X music could exist with its current lineup.

“It’s a possibility. It’s really up to the fans, if the fans want us to keep making more music and keep playing shows. We’re certainly all enjoying our time playing together. And if the fans want it, we’ll be there.”

As it stands, Static-X is comprised of Campos, drummer Ken Jay, guitarist Koichi Fukuda, and a masked frontman only known as Xer0 (who everyone knows at this point is Edsel Dope). This current iteration has gone on tour a couple times already, with their current run on the road with Fear Factory, Dope, and Mushroomhead currently ongoing.

As it stands, Static-X is getting ready to release the final recordings featuring Wayne Static in their eighth studio album, Project Regeneration: Vol. 2 on November 3. This new album will feature 13 new songs and was produced by Xer0 and mixed/mastered by longtime collaborator Ulrich Wild.
