Tobias Forge Reveals ‘There Might Be New Music’ Ahead of the Next Ghost Tour

0

There have been multiple hints that things could be changing within Ghost‘s “clergy,” but a recent interview with the band’s mastermind Tobias Forge suggests there will be some new music coming before the band sets off on their next tour.

While speaking earlier this month with French radio station OUI FM (transcribed by Loudwire), Forge said the band’s upcoming tour would be different from their last one.

“Even though we’re obviously changing things…it’s more from a practical point of view. This tour that we’re starting… [will see us] changing a few things around.

“The thing is that we always try to change things around, and now just because there has been – there are going to be a few changes. There might be, between now and then, there might be new music. Um, I’m just saying!”

Ghost have been away from the road since their North American Imperatour came to an end last September. Since then, it’s possible that the band (or really just Forge) has been working on new material. With several months between their last tour and their upcoming European tour next month, that’s plenty of time to put together something new.

It’s unclear if this new slate of music would follow the “death” of Papa Emeritus IV to make way for a new Papa or other member of the clergy. That typically happens in between major record releases and Papa IV was only just recently the focal point for Impera.

Regardless, if we’re going to get new Ghost music before their next slate of shows, time is running out. Ghost will head out on their European tour starting on May 21 in Rouen, France. You can check out all of the dates below.
