Ex-As I Lay Dying Bassist Now a Member of Spiritbox, Band Debuted a New Song Live

0

Ever since Bill Crook left Spiritbox back in 2022, the band has been relying on the services of ex-As I Lay Dying bassist Josh Gilbert to fill in for the band’s shows. It was a set up that worked for the band for a while, but it looks like they liked it and put the proverbial ring on it by kinda sorta announcing he’s an official member of the band.

I only say “kinda sorta” because there was no official press release or grand announcement from the band, but rather a one-off comment by frontwoman Courtney LaPlante made responding to a fan’s comment when she posted the above image. The fan’s question was simply whether Josh was officially a full-time member or not and she responded with an equally simple “Yes he is!”

It’s a hell of a time for Gilbert to officially join the band, as the Canadian alt-metal outfit’s been blowing up in popularity in recent months. With their first and second albums released in 2021 and 2022, there’s already talk that the band has even more songs in the tank for a future album release. In fact, the band played a brand new song titled “The Void” for the first time at a recent show, which you can check out in the clip below.
