Thy Art Is Murder’s Next Album Will Be Out September, Drop New Single “Join Me In Armageddon”

Extreme metal from “Down Under” is making a comeback this fall, as Thy Art Is Murder are set to return with their sixth studio effort and their first completely independent release, Godlike. Set for release on September 15 through their own label Human Warfare, the band says this new slate of tracks take a look at the world over the last few years and comes to the same conclusion — shit is fucked.

To celebrate today’s announcement, the band released the new album’s first single, “Join Me in Armageddon,” which starts with a foreboding riff that builds to the moment the band suggests you “dress warm for nuclear winter.

Guitarist Andy Marsh described the new track as a look at humanity’s tendency to fuck everything up for itself.

“‘Join Me In Armageddon’ is a song that started off with one idea, self destruction. I suppose throughout this record, we have ended up touching on a lot of themes that came to the fore these last few years, for us, and maybe you, as well. Loss, distance, doubt, pressure, and tension have made their way through our lives and now are intertwined and immortalized in this record — Godlike.”

Godlike will be available on September 15, though you can preorder your copy today. Be sure to check out the album art and full tracklist below the video.
