King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Dropped a Seizure-Inducing Video for the Epic New Track “Dragon”

Australian outfit King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have their 24th album, PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation, coming out on June 16 and they’ve been on a roll. Not only are they currently on tour in the U.S. and totally not protesting an anti-trans law, but they’re regularly dropping new and exciting tracks off the record.

Earlier today, the band dropped a nearly 10 minute banger titled “Dragon.” For those that don’t know, the band is opting to release their second attempt at a thrash metal record with PetroDragonic Apocalypse. According to the band, the album will be a double EP and if the whole thing is as good as “Gila Monster” and “Witchcraft,” it’s going to be one hell of a release.

As you can hear in the clip below, “Dragon” goes places, with a riff that doesn’t let go of the gas pedal until it finally does, succumbing to an oddly calm passage. Still, that’s not the end of the song, as it builds up once again to a mosh-friendly frenzy.

Drummer Michael Cavanagh said the new track — if not the whole album — was created to shake things up for King Gizzard fans

“Ahh my sweet baby ‘Dragon’ is here fresh out of hell’s womb, summoned by the humans at the end of their pitiful road. It’s hard, fast and here to disrupt the natural order and annihilate everything in its path, so turn it up Sammy!”

You can check out the full music video below. Once you’re done with that, you can check out the full list of remaining tour dates here in the States.
