No New Overkill Album Until 2026 Says Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth

0

Bad news for anyone waiting for a new album from New Jersey thrash metal giants Overkill: you’re going to have to wait. In a recent interview with German outlet Moshpit Passion (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), frontman Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth was asked when we can expect the next album following their 2023 release Scorched and Ellsworth gave a time frame of about 1 1/2 – 2 years:

“Well, we just kind of slot it into a timeframe. We’re looking at, I suppose, the majority of the first half of 2025 as being that timeframe for the writing. And probably recording by the end of 2025 and then releasing in 2026. Now I don’t know who we’re gonna release with — I mean, I assume it’s Nuclear Blast; they have one more option. There’s no direction that we’re looking at.”

So that’s a bummer if you were hoping for new Overkill this year or next, but, to be honest, too many albums in too short a time seems like…overkill. In the meantime Overkill is wrapping up their European tour before heading back home for a North American tour. You can check out all the planned dates below.
