Deafheaven’s George Clarke Has a Cameo in The Armed’s “Well Made Play” Video

One thing I love about The Armed is that they’re an unpredictable bunch. Neither consistently heavy enough to be considered a metal band, nor consistently soft enough to branch the alternative space. Their music is constantly evolving, and flickering between the more mainstream side of the heavy scene and sporadically into hardcore.

“Well Made Play” is an absolutely obliterating brand-new single from the Detroit rockers. It’s the debut single taken from The Armed’s newly announced album, The Future Is Here and Everything Needs to Be Destroyed. As the record’s opening track, “Well Made Play” is a hell of an introduction to what’s to come.

Accompanied by a devastatingly brutal video, The Armed summon demons far and wide. And yes, that includes Deafheaven vocalist George Clarke, who appears for a special video cameo.

Speaking about the music video and the biting social commentary laced within, The Armed frontman Tony Wolski says:

“While we chase distractions and small comforts, we’re pushed into endless competition with each other— often while those with real power take freely, right in front of us.”

The Future Is Here and Everything Needs to Be Destroyed comes out August 1 via Sargent House, but you know the drill by now… You can pre-save/order it here.
