It sucks when you think you’re gonna get something one day, but then for whatever reason life or lack of luck fucks it all up. As one of those high strung people, this would (and has) drive me mad. I can only imagine how Death Rattle, the New Hampshire melodic death metal band who were supposed release their new album The Moral Chokehold this coming Friday (June 6).

Unfortunately, the band have to postpone the album release for over a month allegedly due to manufacturing delays, with the new release date projected to be July 11.

However, let us not fret! Death Rattle did us the honor of bestowing a new track and accompanying music video to tide us over until then. “The Darkness” has entered the chat.

Guitarist Ryan Vanderwolk said this about it:

“‘The Darkness’ is collectively one of, if not our most favorite song from The Moral Chokehold. Not only is it the closer for the record, but also the closer for our live sets. Born from a couple of riff ideas, it quickly grew to a much larger, and diverse song as everyone put their fingerprints on it. There are the elements of the groove, and aggression Death Rattle does well, but also has more relaxed moments, a huge catchy chorus, and a very progressive climax. ‘Rage against the dying of the light’ and enter ‘The Darkness.’”

You can order vinyl and stream The Moral Chokehold in its entirety at any one of these places, once it comes out of course.
