Sodom Taps into the Living Dead on Latest Single “Taphephobia”

0

Realistically, I’d say the average person doesn’t struggle with taphephobia, but when you listen and watch the lyric video for Sodom’s brand-new single, that might all change for a bunch of you…

“Taphephobia” is the latest single from the band’s forthcoming 17th studio album, The Arsonist. It’s shared alongside a video with a mixture of Sodom live footage and soldiers on the frontline. The track follows after the band’s nostalgic predecessor, “Witchunter,” which saw the band look longingly into the past.

Speaking about their new release, Sodom frontman Tom Angelripper says,

“‘Taphephobia’ is about an abnormal phobia of being buried alive as a result of being incorrectly pronounced dead. Drummer Toni Merkel, who is also an excellent guitarist, contributed this song and helped to make the album even more versatile.”

Other than their upcoming album, the German thrash metallers have confirmed just two live dates this year, and they’re both festival appearances. Sodom are set to play Copenhell Festival and Rockharz. You can find the dates below.

The Arsonist is due out for release on June 27, but you can pre-order it here.
