Twelve Foot Ninja’s Music Abruptly Pulled From Streaming Services

0

It’s been almost a full year since Australian alt rock band Twelve Foot Ninja threw in the towel. They released their acoustic album Mutant Dreams & Face Transplants: An Acoustic Experience as part of a send off package for us, but unless you downloaded or bought it in some sort of physical capacity, you may just be shit out of luck. For reasons unbeknownst to me—and, it appears to be, unbeknownst to the whole band themselves—Twelve Foot Ninja’s music was pulled from streaming services or, digital service providers, last week.

On Thursday, June 19, the band’s former guitarist Steve “Stevic” MacKay attempted to offer up an explanation for the whole conundrum, citing issues with distribution rights and complications with streaming services caused by their 2024 breakup.

MacKay said:

Twelve Foot Ninja’s music has unexpectedly been removed from streaming services. In my non defamatory opinion; a very silly sausage maneuver that does little more than annoy fans. I’m working on getting everything back on track asap. Sorry for the inconvenience – not of Twelve Foot Ninja’s doing. I will elaborate in due course

– Stevic

Twelve Foot Ninja’s discographical disappearance depends on what region you live in, but either way, how fuckin stupid. While convenient, streaming has fucked up so much for bands and artists that I continue to ask myself the question of whether it was all worth it or not. But, that’s a question for another article.
