Squid Pisser Announce U.S. Tour Dates with King Parrot and Bonginator
Weird, wild, and frenetic style, Squid Pisser have carved a niche out for themselves by being absolutely and unabashedly themselves. Their avant-garde sound can be jarring at times, but it works for them. That’s why the announcement from earlier today that they’ll be touring the U.S. next month is so damn exciting — it’s an opportunity for more people to check these guys out.
Set to kick off on August 4 in Oklahoma City and coming to an end on August 29 in Los Angeles, Squid Pisser will be taking their avant-grind metal sound to as many venues as they can within that span of time. During that range of dates, the band will share a stage with Bonginator and King Parrot.
Speaking of the forthcoming tour, frontman Tommy Meehan explained how the band’s constant push to be doing something at least a little bit provacative drove them toward today’s announcement.
“After we dropped ‘Dreams of Puke’ and ‘Vaporize a Neighbor’ and toured a bunch with GWAR last year, we never really stopped. We’re wrapping new recordings with Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Big Business, etc), and we’re deep in the mixing phase right now—it’s some of the nastiest stuff we’ve done.
“This August, we’re heading out for a full U.S. tour with King Parrot and Bonginator, and somehow, we’re also playing the Gathering of the Juggalos? Our homecoming show is in Los Angeles with O Sees, which we are super excited about… It’s a weird, stacked, totally chaotic year, but that’s how we all love it…“
