Yungblud Remembers Ozzy: “You Will Be in Every Single Note I Sing”
Weeks after absolutely blowing away all non-Ozzy or Black Sabbath performances at ‘Back to the Beginning’, British musician Yungblud posted a heartfelt tribute to the late “Prince of Darkness” in the wake of his passing.
“I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don’t.
“I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough. You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all.
“I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”
To say Ozzy’s had a bit of an impact on Yungblud’s career would be an understatement. Ozzy had been vocal about his appreciation for the young artist, saying regularly how he saw himself in Yungblud. As for the latter, he had been known to collaborate with Ozzy in music videos and the like.
But it wasn’t until his performance at ‘Back to the Beginning’ when he covered “Changes” from Black Sabbath’s 1972 album Vol. 4 that the world at large may have noticed the artists’ connection to one another.
