The Jesus Lizard Call Off 2025 Tour Over a “Serious Health Incident”
The remaining touring plans for noise rock outfit the Jesus Lizard have been kiboshed after one of the band’s members was stricken with what’s been described as a “serious health incident.”
The affected dates were scheduled for this coming October and November, when the band would be touring New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and the U.S. in support of their first record in a quarter century, Rack. According to a statement posted by the group online, the decision wasn’t an easy one to make, but a necessary one to address a health issue before things got worse.
The statement reads as follows:
“The Jesus Lizard regret to announce the cancellation of their scheduled Oct 2025 dates in New Zealand, Australia and Japan, as well as their Nov dates in the US. Upon the advice of medical professionals following a serious health incident affecting one of the band members, it is considered necessary as a precautionary measure.
“The band would like to convey their apologies to disappointed fans and emphasize that the affected member’s prognosis is excellent. Your understanding and support are very much appreciated as always.
“As we cannot currently project replacement dates, refunds will be available at point of purchase.”
While this is surely unfortunate for the fans that had made plans to see the band perform live, it’s understandable for the Jesus Lizard to want to take the time to recover. Their health is more important at this time.
We at MetalSucks hope that anyone and everyone involved in the apparent “serious health incident” gets better soon.
