Watch: Keith Buckley Joined The Dillinger Escape Plan for a Nine Inch Nails Cover (and “43% Burnt”)
This past Friday, people at The Dillinger Escape Plan’s show in Los Angeles were greeted with a hell of a surprise as ex-Every Time I Die and current Many Eyes vocalist Keith Buckley got on stage for a couple songs. It was a moment that people following each of those bands over the last couple years or so probably never saw coming, making the performance itself something completely unique.
During this unexpected meeting of the minds, Buckley and The Dilliner Escape Plan ripped through a cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Wish” from the band’s 1992 EP Broken before vaulting straight into TDEP’s “43% Burnt” off their classic 1999 album Calculating Infinity.
Remember, Buckley’s old bandmates went on after Every Time I Die disbanded to form a new band called Better Lovers with ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato. So Friday’s show was a temporary completion of the apparent vocalist swap that’s been in the making for a while.
You can check out the video below and try to keep the jealousy at bay, since California gets all the cool shows.
