Frontiers Label Group Launches Metal Label BLKIIBLK Records, Mike Gitter Named Global Head of A&R
A new player in the world of metal, hard rock, and extreme music labels has taken shape and it’s already shaking shit up in the industry, as Frontiers Label Group announced this morning the launch of BLKIIBLK Records. And with an already impressive lineup of artists on the books and Mike Gitter being named as their Global Head of A&R, the fledgling label is tuned to make some big moves.
With Gitter at the helm of artists and repertoire, BLKIIBLK will have someone that’s worked with some of today’s biggest names and acts in the space. Having worked at Century Media, Roadrunner, Razor & Tie, and Atlantic, he’s signed and worked with bands like Lorna Shore, Killswitch Engage, Bad Religion, Orbit Culture, Starset, and Ice-T’s Body Count. According to him, this new chapter is a chance for him to turn things up for metal and extreme music as a whole.
“I’m proud to announce my joining the Frontiers Label Group team and helming BLKIIBLK. Frontiers is a company of passion. The mission statement is simple: to establish BLKIIBLK as a force on the heavy and extreme music spectrum that spans the gamut from the mainstays and driving forces of the genre to the most modern of metal to the grimiest of the underground. The common denominator is pushing boundaries with records and bands that are nothing short of vital, no matter what stage in their career.”
Based out of Naples, Italy, you may have already had some interaction with BLKIIBLK if you checked out Biohazard’s 2025 album Divided We Fall. Later this month, they’ll be behind the release of Megadeth’s self-titled swan song, too. And this morning, they announced the signing of Bay Area thrash unit Forbidden, NYC hardcore giants Cro-Mags, gothic metal outfit Unto Others, and underground beasts Nunslaughter.
As for new releases coming from BLKIIBLK this year, you can also expect something from The 69 Eyes, Tortured Demon, Thrown Into Exile, Tropic Gold, WoR, and Firewind.
BLKIIBLK joins Frontiers Label Groups’s other two label entities: rock label Frontiers Music SRL and alternative label FLG, with worldwide distribution for the entire group handled by The Orchard. With the addition of BLKIIBLK under Gitter’s guidance, Frontiers Label Group is hoping to make a dent in metal.
This news comes at an exciting time for Frontiers Label Group, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a company. The group’s founder, Serafino Perugino, said today’s news was a great way to start “the next chapter.”
“As Frontiers Label Group enters its thirtieth year, we do so with a renewed and bolder spirit. BLKIIBLK is not just a label, it is a meaningful statement of intent. We aim to push boundaries, support artists with something meaningful to say, and shape a future for metal that is as powerful as its legacy. With Mike Gitter’s experience, credibility, and passion, we are launching a true home for global metal. After thirty years in this business, my passion for building great artists and making great records has never been stronger. BLKIIBLK is the next chapter of that story.”
