DragonForce’s Marc Hudson Makes His Voice Acting Debut in Hit Anime ‘Dan Da Dan’

One of the hottest anime shows out there has added some power metal flair for its latest episode, as DragonForce frontman Marc Hudson is featured in the latest episode of Dan Da Dan.

Now, as a huge nerd, I can attest to watching Dan Da Dan and it’s kinda hard to describe. There’s two teens — one likes the supernatural, the other likes aliens — and an errant bet sets both of them down a path where they fight demons, try to outwit extraterrestrials, and do a whole bunch of other wild shit along the way. It really has the kind of frenetic energy about it that honestly makes sense that someone from DragonForce would get involved with.

According to folks tied to the show, Hudson is featured in the English dub version of season two, episode six as the vocalist of an in-show band named Hayashi. There’s apparently an exorcism involved and of course that means heavy metal takes front and center.

Rather than have myself try to explain the role since I haven’t even seen the episode yet, here’s Hudson talking about it:

“I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I had the incredible opportunity to be a voice actor in Dan Da Dan—one of my all-time favourite anime series! I play the role of the vocalist for Hayashi in Season 2, Episode 6, and getting to perform the exorcism song as part of the character was an absolute blast.

“After making Starbound Stories, an album deeply inspired by anime, I was so happy to be invited to actually sing on an anime—it felt like everything had come full circle. This show is wild, creative, and full of heart, and it was a real privilege to be a part of it. As the vocalist of DragonForce, I’ve had the chance to perform on some amazing songs and albums, but this was a whole new and exciting experience. I can’t wait for everyone to see the episode!”

If any of this interests you, you can check out the episode on Netflix or Crunchyroll today.
