Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo Announce Collab Album, “Radioactive Dreams” Streaming Now

There’s something to be said about the general malaise that exists in the American heartland. Years of neglect by the powers that be has created a situation where far too many communities have been left to rot, creating “flyover country” and the almost post-apocalyptic environments that too many of America’s poor are left to populate.

Despite all that desolation and uncertainty, some artists from the area know how to eke the art out of it. Artists like Oklahoma-based Chat Pile and guitarist/composer Hayden Pedigo. With their collective experiences hailing from the same region, the pair of acts have come together to create a brand new collaborative LP titled In The Earth Again.

Set to be released on Halloween (October 31), the album seeks to highlight the complexities found withing both Chat Pile and Pedigo, with the former known for their caustic noise rock delivery and the latter for their fingerpicking, acoustic guitar soundscapes.

That combination of sounds, Pedigo said, was an important aspect of the project since it allows them to go outside their comfort zone.

“We all wanted to avoid the downfall you see in a lot of collab records. We didn’t want this record to either end up primarily sounding like one of us more than the other.”

The album’s first single “Radioactive Dreams” is wild aggressive situations wrapped in rural overtonoes and explosive finality of societal collapse.

In The Earth Again will be released on October 31, but you can pre-order your copy today.
