A Perfect Circle to Release Two Different 25th Anniversary Editions of ‘Mer De Noms’
Yet another major milestone is coming up for a pretty big album and A Perfect Circle is going the extra mile for the occasion. Earlier today, the band announced that their debut album Mer De Noms will get not one 25th anniversary edition, but two: one for people that like zoetropes and one for audiophiles that demand the best audio quality possible.
According to the announcement, the zoetrope edition will be a 2 LP release that features four animations – one on each side of the two LPs. Said visuals include “the album’s distinctive glyphs, images from the band’s original photo session featuring the line-up of Keenan, Howerdel, Josh Freese, Paz Lenchantin, and Troy Van Leeuwen, clips from the David Fincher-directed “Judith” video, and a hypnotizing display of the band’s iconic logo.”
As for the other version, that one will feature a special One-Step pressing that’s part of the Definitive Sound Series (DSS). Pressed at RTI and mastered by Levi Seltz (Metallica, Green Day) from 96kHz/24bit source files transferred from analog flat masters, this version will be strictly limited to 3,000 hand-numbered copies. This should be the best sounding version of this album available.
Pre-orders for this special release are currently ongoing. The zoetrope edition can be reserved right now with their release landing on September 25. For the One-Step DSS audiophile edition, you can preorder yours now as well, but you’ll have to wait until October 10 for its release.
