Deicide Enlist Exmortus Guitarist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez
A pretty big shakeup just took place in one of the more influential death metal bands out there, as Deicide revealed that they’ve tapped Exmortus guitarist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez as their new guitarist. The news comes following the announcement that their long-time guitarist Kevin Quirion had quit the band.
According to the band, Gonzalez will make his first public appearance as a member of Deicide with their upcoming Latin American tour in support of Behemoth. In a prepared statement, Gonzalez said hew as excited to get started with his new bandmates.
“I’m thrilled and honored to jam amongst such legends as Glen and Steve and to hang with the rest of the team. I thank them for having me on board. I’m looking forward to unleashing hell in Latin America on this tour.”
For those that don’t remember, Quirion announced his departure from Deicide this past May. In his statement, he explained that he was ending his 15 year tenure with the band to focus on his family and to stop living the touring lifestyle.
“So after 15 years I decided to leave the band last month. Mainly I’m just done with touring and would like to spend the extra time with my family.
“I will still be writing songs and have already sent some to Derek Roddy and Sean Baxter to release under the Council Of The Fallen name. There will be no labels or shows, just putting out EPs whenever we feel like it. It was nice meeting a bunch of fans, bands, promoters etc and I wish everyone the best. Got to go now. Look for a job and Roblox with my son……”
