Some more information regardng the unexpected passing of Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has begun making the rounds today, courtesy of local authorities. According to a report by TMZ, it sounds like Rivers’ death was a shock only to those that weren’t in his inner circle.

On October 18, authorities in St. Johns County, Florida were alerted to an incident involved a “nonresponsive person in cardiac arrest.” That incident was marked as an “attended death”, which according to the American Institute of Crime Scene Integrity (AICSI), means that the person in question was “a patient under medical care for a serious or life-threatening illness that will likely lead to death in a relatively short period of time.” If that’s the case, it would potentially confirm initial reports that Rivers’ death was the result of an underlying health conditions.

All of that said, we still don’t know why Rivers passed away at the young age of 48 years old. Of course, our condolences go out to his surviving loved ones.

As for Limp Bizkit proper, it seems like they’re still gearing up for their planned live shows that were supposed to take place next month. One of the promoters for the band’s November 29 show at the Explanada del Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, Mexico, but out the following statement, courtesy of ThePRP:

“We deeply regret the passing of Sam Rivers, founding bassist of Limp Bizkit, whose talent and legacy marked generations and will continue to resonate in every note of his music.

“In such a significant moment for the band and its fans, Limp Bizkit has decided to continue with its performance on November 29th at the Explanada Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, as part of its ‘Gringo Papi Tour’ 2025. That night, every riff and every scream of the crowd will resonate in honor of the great legacy Sam offered to to Nu-Metal, because his energy will never cease. See you soon!”
