If you’ve been chomping at the bit for a doomy, brooding, gothic hit of nostalgia-based dopamine, then boy does this news fit the bill. If you’ve been following along with what’s goin’ on in the Type O Negative camp, then you’ve likely heard rumblings that there’s a new live album in the works.

Well, it’s not only for realsies a thing that’s happening, but it’s already in the final stages of production. During a recent interview with Sh!t Talk Reviews, Type O drummer Johnny Kelly revealed that the new release will be coming next year, though details regarding which show it’s based on and when it’s coming out remain scarce.

“We were able to get our hands on a show. I just got a mix of one of the songs, just two or three weeks ago, to approve it. It was mixed and mastered, and we were gonna put it out with one label, and now I believe we’re doing it with Nuclear Blast. I’m not exactly sure when it’s coming out. Right now we’re going through the artwork and stuff like that, approving that kind of stuff.”

Not long ago, guitarist Kenny Hickey spilled some details on Loaded Radio on the upcoming release. In that chat, he said the band was in the studio mixing the live album and that he was “excited” about it.

All of this, along with the question of a potential Type O Negative tribute show in the future, should have fans of the band excited for what’s to come. Who knows? Maybe 2026 will be the year that something like a tribute show materializes and a whole new generation of fans gets to find out just how awesome Type O Negative really was.
