THE NEW LIVING COLOUR SONG ISN’T REALLY METAL, BUT IT IS REALLY AWESOME

Living Colour are streaming a new song, “Behind the Sun,” on their MySpace page. It’s our first sample of the new music that will appear on their forthcoming The Chair in the Doorway, which comes out September 15.
It’s an extremely catchy, poppy hard rock ditty, powered, as usual, by Vernon Reid’s effects-heavy guitars and the rock-solid rhythm section of Doug Wimbash and Will Calhoun. And, oh yeah, Corey Glover. Whose voice is still in killer shape after all these years.
So, yeah, it’s not gonna make you wanna kill anyone or sacrifice a goat or set your house on fire or whatever, but it will make you wanna bop your head n’ groove. And why not try to start our week on a more relaxing note?
Check it out, then let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Wow…I hate to admit it…but I really really don’t like this song. I’m not even sure why…it seems to be invoking a point in my life I that I don’t want to remember. It may take a bit to put my finger on it. Also, anything that sounds remotely poppy right now actually DOES make me want to kill someone. Hmm…I think I better get ahold of some greenage this morning.
awesome guitar work on the chorus!
Meh…boring!
Not bad, not completely rememberable or catchy, but not bad.
Corey Glover was pretty good in “Platoon.”
Awesome to have these guys back. This sounds like classic Living Colour to me!
Black metal – straight to hell, straight outta compton
I’m digging it. Not the hammer to the head the way songs like “Cult Of Personality” or “Leave It Alone” are, but a damn fine song. I like it.
Yeah, I really dig this song.
I also think that Stain was a great album from these guys.
It’s good to see them still alive and kicking.
It’s okay that it’s not a metal song, because Living Colour isn’t a metal band. They have always been a rock band with infusions of pop/funk/metal/hard rock.
That said, I’m not in love with the new song. Don’t hate it, but don’t love it. But it sounds like one that grows on you.
I dig this. Heard it last week and the guitar line stuck in my head. It’s good to have them back.
where are the blast beats?
I will never understand why everyone likes this band so much.
Back in day I bought Vivid and I wish I didn’t.
b/c they are actually 4 talented musicians that know their craft. the new song is pretty hot. corey sounds amazing! i admit, i didn’t like the 70’s disco beat, but it grew on me and has a great summer sound. i’m definitely picking this up or downloading it when it cracks
This works nicly for them, i love it.great band i hope the whole disc kicks ass
