BRENT HINDS GETS DOWN
Thursday, July 16th, 2009 at 4:30pm by Axl RosenbergThanks to Kit Hart for sending us this of Mastodon’s Brent Hinds jamming on “Bury Me in Smoke” with Down at Greece’s Rockwave Festival a couple of weeks back. The quality’s only so-so, but still, it’s one of the awesome team-ups I dig so much, and this may be the only documentation of its existence. Enjoy.

This is awesome! Team-ups rule.
Who were the otehr people up there? Brann jumped in on drums, but the guitar player who took over for Kirk? Whowazzat?
IDK…i was wondering who the girl was on bass as well.
the other guitar player was jimmy bower after brann jumped on the kit. phil wound up playing bass while rex and pepper were worshipping mastodon.
Right, I saw Phil on bass, but if that’s JB on the other guitar, then he either has AIDS or has been on some sort of crazy fucking diet…
damn! lucky greeks!
the other guy looks like fieldy (korn)
So this is where all the heshins went.
The heshins are where they’ve always been – in between the heknees and the hefeet.
Lol,
“What do you want to hear?”
“PANTERA!!!”
That was too easy. Poor Phil, he will never get away from the Pantera chants/ references.
It seems that whenever there is one of these low-quality recordings, someone very close to the hand-held device, or the one actually operating it, says something ridiculous. In this one, it’s the guy that sounds like someone grabbed his nuts while he says (long with Phil and the rest of the crowd) “Bury me in SMAAAOOKE!”
Awesome…was there with my girlfriend, we basically just went to greece to c mastodon live so this was a highlight for us. everyone was asking for “walk”, so i think Phil was a bit disappointed with the crowd :p Fucking amazing show overall.
I’d like to know who the other people were too. That woulda been awesome.
Wow… Phil’s voice has gotten A LOT better since the last time I heard it. Kudos to him.
I thought the same thing, he has definitely taken a turn for the better in the last year or 2.
Who knew Greece had confederates.
Mastodown
Amazing!
“Mastodown” simple, great, funny!
That rules, two of my favorite bands and two of the most credible bands in metal!!!
This is one of the best things that could happen in any Rock or Metal show, TEAM-UPS. Brent Hinds is a great guitarist.
