SUICIDE NOTES AND FLYING BASSES

The guest artists of the week were Atreyu’s Alex Varkatzas and Brandon Saller, who both called in and participated in the entire half-hour show. It was kinda awkward for us (as I’m sure it was for them), but we all played nice and had a good time. The podcast will be posted later in the week, at which point you’ll definitely see it posted here.
So now that the niceties are out of the way, we can go back to making fun of Atreyu again! MetalSucks Maniac Tom Fassnidge sent in this clip of Atreyu bassist Marc McKnight dropping throwing his bass as the result of an exaggerated stage move at a 2008 gig in Biloxi, MS. It’s quite funny, and the crowd certainly seemed to enjoy it; McKnight seemed to have a good sense of humor about it too, throwing his hands up in the air in defeat and waiting on the side of the stage until his techs recovered his lost axe.

i wouldnt have had a good sense of humour!! i would have tweeked the fuck out…strap locks dont work on their own…you need to fill the guitar strap hole with glue (from a glue gun or wood glue) and then screw in your strap…
It all happens really fast but it seems like it’s the guy’s fault rather than the straplock’s

im waiting for the day people are stupid enough to ninja dance to LOG and are unknowingly centered into a wall of death. ahhhh.. oh well
ninja dances havent lasted very long at any LOG show I’ve seen…
im going to see LOG tomorrow for the first time, so maybe that will happen and add to the experience

Hahaha, hilarious. It’s like watching the Dillinger Escape Plan play. Flinging your instrument around live doesn’t make up for how poorly you play it.
Except DEP can play really well.
I’m no expert but shouldn’t his bass have…….um…..y’know……..made a noise?

i didnt even notice! one of the few times that i am only paying attention to the bass player…and i still dont notice when he cuts out..and im a bass player!!

He looks like a 4 year old throwing a fit, im glad he droped it maybe now he wont act like such a jack ass, But too bad Atreyu would still suck.
Funny how their music sounds exactly the same with or without the bassplayer. He must have contributed a lot to the writing the process.
The really talented bassists get turned down in the mix, right?
