SLAYER CANCELS CANADIAN TOUR WITH MEGADETH

The first press release into the MS Mansion inbox this morning bore a bit of bad news, at least for Canadian Slayer and Megadeth fans; Slayer have pulled out of the “Canadian Carnage Tour” with Megadeth, which was due to begin November 8th. The press release cites health concerns about bassist/vocalist Tom Araya as the reason for cancellation:
Slayer’s Tom Araya is currently under the care of a specialist for a back injury, thought to be related to his on-stage activity, and the physician has ordered an immediate surgical procedure to take place in Texas tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
The press release doesn’t specifically say whether the tour — which also includes Machine Head and Suicide Silence — will continue on without Slayer, but it’s implied, saying more information regarding rescheduled dates will be release soon.
It’d be awfully easy to make a Dave Mustaine vs. Kerry King jab here, but instead I’ll take the high road and simply offer this: get well, Tom.

I really hope this doesn’t affect the UK tour, but i think it probably will if he’s having an operation before it starts.
Mustaine: Y’know, I really enjoy Slayer and they play a really good set every night. I mean, I didn’t see it myself, but my friend told me it was good… Seriously, though, I talked to Jeff yesterday and he told me Kerry’s getting the boot. Then I trashed his bus because he mentioned Metallica.
i’m hoping they bring this tour to the states seems like we getting fucked over from this tour and they would make a shit load of cash off this in the states
what on-stage activity?
my thoughts exactly. Apparently looking disinterested for 45 minutes a night is very tough on the lumbar vertebrae.
so i take it they won’t be on kimmel wednesday night?
Yes, the Kimmel appearance has also been postponed.
Well, there goes my day. Off to kill myself.
Well, I’m sure Tom got Mustaine praying for him, whether he likes it or not.
This just fucked up my day :( Get well Tom !!!
@Ziv, I’m pretty sure Tom is Catholic as it is.
I would really like to see this tour eventually in the states. Megadeth is coming here soon but with Machine Head and Suicide Silence. Suicide Silence….fucking really?
This shit band seems to be on every decent tour for some reason.
That’s odd. Lombardo says Tom is fine.
“Yeah, he’s fine. We took a day off. He lost his voice in Melbourne, we cancelled Adelaide, which was the day after, and flew to Perth. He was fine after that.”

That interview was obviously conducted before this happened.
Vinnie, doesn’t “taking the high road” have a totally different meaning for you?
They’re now rescheduling the tour, shitload of good it does me if it falls during exams.
Fuck. Was really looking forward to the Air Canada Centre date :(
