WHITE LI-YAWN

I always forget that current Megadeth bassist James Lomenzo used to be in White Lion. I guess I can accept that he was in Black Label Society (and David Lee Roth), since Zakk Wylde usta use an awful lotta hairspray, but Megadeth? Doesn’t that seem kinda like if Metallica hired the dude from Dangerous Toys or something?

Anyways, I mention it because the “Oh Don Piano!” moment of the day is Lomenzo saying he’d be open to a White Lion reunion. I’m sure the five White Lion fans left the world are all very excited. But I don’t think anyone should get their hopes up. And I can’t be the only one who’d rather hear Lomenzo play tracks from Endgame or pretend to be Dave Ellefson, can I?

” Doesn’t that seem kinda like if Metallica hired the dude from Dangerous Toys or something?”

McMaster has more metal street-cred in his pinky toe from his Watchtower days than Hetfield and Lards could have in ten lifetimes in Smegma-tallica.

Have you ever heard Lomenzo jam? The dude can play a base! Unbelievable Rock God in my book! Look up Wyn Guitars he’s on their site with this sick base that was made for him.

Can we get over this pussy 80′s throwback/hair metal band/musical disaster fuckfest you guys got going on over the last few days and get to some shit people care about.

I understand news is slow but FUCK. This shit is horrible. Maybe take a day off so you can save up an article or two of some not queer shit? Review an album, SOMETHING?

You guys get less metal everyday.

NO ONE WANTS TO BUY YOU SHIT. If they do it is just because they got their parents CC and they think it would be cool super rad to see their name in an article.

    FUCK THIS.

Vito Bratta was an amazing guitar player. A shame he does’nt play anymore

This is one of the most unintentionally hilarious songs of all-time, lol

I have always loved White Lion. They stand apart from the hair crowd a bit, their sound being a bit soft, weird, and European. Good tones, good songs. Underrated.

In my CD collection and on my iPhone you’ll find White Lion’s work along side of that of Death, Carcass and Dimmu Borgir. Even though their work doesn’t consist of double-time blast beats and has a good deal of melody, if you look at the guys for their musical merits, they’re pretty impressive. I’m not the biggest fan of the singer, but the rhythm section were very versatile and very tight. Vito Bratta was an incredibly innovative lead guitarist.

While their Atlantic output was more commercial, White Lion’s first album, released on a division of RCA in Asia had a heavier sound (as heavy metal could be considered in 1985). Greg D’Angelo played in Anthrax and Pride and Glory, while James Lomenzo was in Megadeth and BLS. Former bassist Dave Spitz was a member of Nuclear Assault and Black Sabbath, so the band does have a metal pedigree. Treble-picked guitars and Swedish death rolls are awesome, but try listening to some music that breathes a little once in a while!
