EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: SKELETONWITCH’S “SUBMIT TO THE SUFFERING”

Thursday, August 26th, 2010 at 4:00pm by

Few bands today personify pure, unadulterated, no bullshit FUCKIN’ METAL the way Skeletonwitch do, and their most recent Prosthetic release, Breathing the Fire, was one of our most favoritest releases of 2009. Which is we why here at MetalSucks are totally stoked to be debuting their righteously evil new video, “Submit to the Suffering,” which was directed by Don Tyler (Mastodon, Ringworm). Check it out below!

And, hey, guess what? Breathing the Fire is on sale for just $8.99 RIGHT NOW. You can order a copy here. If you don’t own this awesome album, may you burn in the fires of false metal hell!!!

I get not wanting do the same old trite/cliche/tired metal video staples but seriously, where the hell is the fucking fire?

I agree. It’s the first track on Breathing the FIRE(!!!) so, naturally, there should be fire all over the fucking place.

      Not Sick Enough!!

One of my favorite bands. How can you NOT like them? Awesome riffs and awesome solos. The vocals are the golden cherry on top of the world’s most metal sundae.
    Awesome through and through.

Fuck yeah, I love this band.

  • Manny

Nice job! I like this video a lot! Filmed exactly where it needed to be filmed. Hills ov Athens :)

  • Genial Gentile

I was totally on the fence about the ‘witch for a long time…and then I saw them live. Holy shit! Now days these guys can do no wrong in my book.

  • Jessica

I really love Skeletonwitch, they are my favorite band. but seeing them in a music video is totally weird!!!

I really wanted to hate this band , but saw um last week in Rochester and they were pretyy bad ass. Aside from the fact that their singer acts like a ” satanic Jack Black ” …Ill definately see them again

    • big p

“satanic jack black” sounds like th best descrition for a singer ever.

  • Discipleofthewatch

I love these guys too. They totally won me over when I saw them live. If I didn’t already have Breathing the Fire, I’d buy it. Or maybe I’ll buy it for my one metalhead co-worker. He hasn’t seen them live, so he’s on the fence about them.

  • Alex_P

I had to interview this band, and they were really chill with me, despite my having had no time to prepare. Their live show is pretty great stuff.

  • Vlygar

I saw their other video posted on this site and didn’t care for it too much. Now that I just saw this video, I really like the band and I’m sorta pissed I skipped my chance to see them. By the way, I think this video fits in nicely with whoever posted the rules for the modern music video. It keeps the simple band playing cliche, although not in an abandoned factory, plus it adds a little flare with some other shit cut into it. I’m thinking of buying their album, just need a physical store to buy it from.

    • Matt

Come to Athens, Ohio and you can buy it at a great store called Haffa’s

      • TheHangingBrain

I need to get my ass to Haffa’s, it’s been too damn long. I love Athens.

continually kicking a** and taking names, the Witch are one of my personal faves :)

  • http://deathmetalbaboon.com/ byrd36

    Hail the Witch!!!

  • RJMiller

I was one of three cameramen on this video. These guys were fucking great to work with. I became a fan instantly. I agree fire all around would’ve been great, but obviously costs. This was filmed in Mullet Chad’s (drummer) back yard in Pomeroy, OH @ about 11AM – 3AM.

  • ceth carter

Gonne have to see these guys live.I just dont dig them much on any studio recording i have heard but metal fans seem to swear by their live show so i guess I need to check them out in the flesh.

  • Randy

Hmm… I’ve seen Skeletonwitch live and I didn’t think it was all that great (the sound was too muddied, so I couldn’t really tell one song for another, a complaint I also have with 3 Inches of Blood live when I’ve seen em’). Maybe I’m just seeing them in the wrong venue though.

Skeletonwitch kind of bored me at first, but this song is pretty badass, so I might have to look into “Breathing the Fire,” again. For some reason I don’t remember the production being as good as it is on this video.

    • Stu

Certainly sounds like the venue to me.

  • Doc

Man, you drop this puppy down to C and you gotcherself a catchy death metal dance tune. Great stuff.

  • Danexmurder

Skeletonwitch is one of the best metal bands out there today. They put on an awesome show and are all around great dudes. Hung out with Nate and had a couple of beers before they went on at the Ottobar in Baltimore. Great times.

  • Autonocuous

Just wanted to say I love this band. Metal videos never change and they’re always the same ol’ thing, but who gives a fuck? Its hard to pay attention to some elaborate video when you’re banging your fucking head

  • TheHangingBrain

There’s not many live bands that I’ve seen that have the energy that these dudes do. They fucking shred, and they almost outdid opening band Amon Amarth… almost.

  • Galkovski

I remember smokin’ a j with the singer at Heavy MTL… such good times… =D

  • Ausloschen

    this IS metal

Really chill dudes, the vocalist was an awesome dude when I saw them 2ish years ago, great show. great guys. Can’t wait for the next album.
