SIX IMMORTAL SHOWS ARE BETTER THAN NO IMMORTAL SHOWS

I’m pretty bummed I missed Immortal when they played North America earlier this year. Luckily, I’ll have another chance come February, when the band are returning to this continent — with Absu in tow, no less.

Alas, they’re only playing six dates, so if you don’t live within convenient traveling distance of NYC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Denver, or San Antonio, you’re shit outta luck. For the rest of us, though… time to throw on some corpsepaint and shake our booties, “All Shall Fall” video-style.

        Amen. I’d recommend At the Heart of Winter first, Sons of Northern Darkness second. Some people are more partial to the older, faster stuff, in which case I’d say Pure Holocaust. But At the Heart of Winter is epic and atmospheric but still brutal and cold.

    These types of tours always confuse me. How is this cost-effective for Immortal? Why plan such a patchy tour with so few stops between large distances? Why play in Texas when they could be in Canada’s northern darkness? Why does that axe still look like cardboard when they’ve played shows for 70 000 people?

    I think I’m going to take a trip to see my friends up north in February. NEVER seen Immortal, and they’re the last band on my “must see” list that I haven’t seen yet(aside from a legitimate lineup for Mayhem, which can’t happen due to prison and death).

    Yeah, 700 mile road trip sounds like a plan! Let me make sure I have the gas and food money beforehand.

    Bought my tickets the moment I saw this from Immortal’s Facebook page this morning. Too bad it’s a mini-tour, but I’m so glad that they’ll be making a stop in Baltimore.
