TWO TOURS WITH NO DATES YOU MIGHT WANNA BE HIP TO: THE ROCKSTAR UPROAR TOUR + FIREWIND

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 at 12:00pm by

I get kinda bummed when we hafta write about tours with no dates yet, because it seems like kind of a cocktease — what’s the point of getting excited when you don’t even know if the trek is coming to your town yet? — but these two tours both seem pretty noteworthy. And so:

  • Avenged Sevenfold will headline this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. Sevendust are also on the tour. And I’m going to pretend that that’s the entire line-up. Yep, just A7X and Sevendust. Two of the best modern pop metal bands touring together, with no one else. What a great bill!
  • Firewind are FINALLY gonna do a proper North American headlining tour, with Arsis, White Wizzard, and Nightrage in tow. Not only am I stoked that Firewind are actually touring, but I think it’s really cool of them to have a diverse range of acts as their support. I bet these shows will be a lotta fun.

And we’ll post dates for at least one of these tours as soon as we get ‘em.

Was the hard rock touring market that slim that they had to repeat Main stage headliners just the 2nd year in, or has A7X’s popularity grown that much in the past year that getting them back would really drive interest up? I Know this band is popular but not anymore than a year ago, are they? Plus they’ve already done like 2 or 3 North American tours for Nightmare.

Fuck it…I like a few Seether songs

  • Vigilante

FUCK YES! Firewind headline tour WITH Nightrage in the USA for the first time! I love this lineup!

  • Dash

Black Tide’s first album was pretty damn impressive for a bunch of kids. Some nice throwback metal, but not sure how they’ve been since the singer went through puberty and had his voice totally change.

    • maniacon

      Agreed. ‘Shockwave’ is badass

      • GKIII

Check out the website; he is a sceney-weanie now. Guages and all.

  • Skylar

    Must… See… Arsis… Again…

  • DTdeadhead

Firewind is cool but Arsis should be headlining

  • lost goat

you know what metalsucks? fuck you. all you post anymore is either hot topic kiddy metal like this,or hot topic kiddy “deathcore”

go stick a ten speed bicycle,a tonka truck toy,a warm 40 oz of Steel Reserve 211,a burrito from el farolito on mission st. in sf,a 1978 buick skylark, and a box of old video tapes straight up your fucking ass

  • http://www.twistedcritic.wordpress.com Chris

Seether and Three Days Grace on the main stage, with Sevendust probably doing a 25-min set on some portable stage in the parking lot? Give me a break.

  • TXhellbilly

That’s a lot of stuff to fit in one collective ass there my friend.

  • cougar party

This is why I haven’t seen Avenged Sevenfold in 4 years. There is no fucking way I am going to sit through Seether and Three Days Grace. They need to do a headlining tour; not these festivals.

  • amnesik

This shit will cost like 70$/ ticket

  • MeesterDerp

Why does Avenged Sevenfold constantly tour with the same bands? I feel like I’ve seen this lineup so many times before.

    • Tr00Metal

More importantly, why don’t they tour with GOOD bands?

      • Chris

        This!
i dont get it everytime they announce a tour i hate 90% of the bands opening for them

      • Trev

Birds of a feather flock together I guess.

  • callahan

Middle America and assholes that drink vodka/red bull’s are fucking pumped.

  • Braston

I’m not huge on a7x but I’d for sure go for Sevendust!

I’m guessing A7X are on a mini tour or something right now with Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine, and Sevendust.
From what I understand, they’ve already done some shows together in the past couple of weeks.

  • Nate

    Might go for Sevendust.
    Probably not though.

  • big dong

why on earth do you guys post about this kinda crap?

    pays the bills i guess…

  • The I

    Wait….what?

  • http://realmetalfans.net Tucker Max

Seeing how this is supposed to be a METAL website, why are you giving so much attention to poser bands? Sellouts.

    • Trev

Yep agreed. I think I’m done here.

  • Adam

wow what a shit ass show, my shit makes heavier and better metal than all of those bands, half of them aint even metal

  • VyceVictus

    RE: Sevendust,

All things considered, they seem to be having a great year. I hear the Disturbed tour they’re on is going well , and I hope they’re getting good exposure and more fans.

I do agree that posts like this aren’t considered metal and may not be appropriate, but it is their website; If I had a high traffic site like this, I would plug bands that I thought were quality and worth the press.

That said, I do feel Sevendust deserve all the recognition they can garner. They’ve payed their dues on the road for over a decade and consistently put out quality material, surely qualities that any metal fan or music fan in general can appreciate. Just wanted to say to give em a chance if you havent already, they more than likely are worth your time. Or, to put it another way, there are fare worse bands making far more money than Sevendust who deserve hate.

I have no comment on the other bands on the bill, just wanted to show my support for a band I dig. Peace.
