EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: TOMBS WALK THE “PATH OF TOTALITY”

Monday, May 23rd, 2011 at 1:00pm by

We’re only two weeks away from the release of Tombs’ crushing new album, Path of Totality. But two weeks can seem like an eternity when waiting for new music from a band as awesome as Tombs, which is why we got ya covered early — you can stream the title track below. Constantly shifting and evolving, slithering slowly towards you one moment and then suddenly oh-fuck-it-has-legs chasing you the next, the song never sounds like anything less than Pure Fucking Evil, a merciless black hole of despair and rock. You will fucking love it.

Path of Totality comes out June 7 on Relapse. You can pre-order it here. The band is also on tour throughout June; you can get dates here!

A considerable improvement from their last record imo (the last record was still great)

This is one of those bands that I should like based on how they are described, but I always feel a big fat ‘meh’ whenever I listen to them.

YEP. title track on their previous album is awesome but everything else falls flat. hope this one rules because i really want to like them more

  • Metalguy

    Love me some Tombs

  • Wah wah wah

Can anyone else not get over the drum sounds? I love dirty drums when it done right but these sound terrible. Listen to the cymbals getting chopped up on every kick drum hit because of the compression.

    • Fred Durst

yeah , kinda sounds like my clothes dryer is fucking up

    • Chip Northcutt

Let’s hope that is from a shitty conversion for streaming.

“Constantly shifting and evolving, slithering slowly towards you one moment and then suddenly oh-fuck-it-has-legs chasing you the next”

You can totally hear this in the song, awesome bit of writing.
The song is pretty bad though.

Yeah, props to the intern who was presumably writing under the name Metalsucks here. I mean it in the nicest way possible when I say that you should write the little blurbs on live DVD covers.

Very nice! I thought their last album was good, but I was not so sure if I would get their next one. This song definitely has me interested to hear more …

Exclusive huh? Too bad this has been on their Facebook for awhile now. The real exclusives were on NPR and Brooklyn Vegan…

    BARN BURNER
Set To Release Bangers II: Scum Of The Earth

With the volume, technicality and intensity that embodies heavy metal and the overarching catchiness and longevity of stoner and classic rock, Barn Burner capture a signature sound that cannot be easily placed or categorized.

“Huge groovy riffs that would make Phil Lynott proud.” Craveonline.com

While maintaining some of the core aspects of their previous record, Barn Burner have captured something more intense, taking steps to create an album more dynamic then their last. Having already toured Canada, the U.S. and Europe with the likes of Priestess, Bison B.C., and 3 inches of Blood, Barn Burner intend to continue its war path in support of the Metal Blade release of Bangers II: Scum Of The Earth (6.07.11)
